Emily's Bridal Boudoir Session
Emily contacted me and said she wanted to give her new husband to be a set of intimate images for a wedding present. Emily wanted a bridal look as well as some flirty and fun images. As part of Emily's session I did her hair and makeup. Lets hear what Emily had to say about her session.
How old are you? 28
What do you do for a living? Mental Health and Tenancy Support Worker
What made you decide to do a boudoir session? I wanted a gift for my fiancé, and a confidence boost before the wedding!
What was your perception about Boudoir before your session? Positive, I thought that Boudoir celebrated the body…
Did you have fears about committing to a boudoir session? My worst fears were having my stomach on show, and my scars! And also fears around not being able to get a decent picture because I cant smile!
Was the session what you expected it to be or was it more? I had read a lot of the post-questionnaires and looked at pictures, so it was pretty much as I expected – made to feel comfortable, some laughter and relaxed.
What was your favourite part about your boudoir experience? Taking the shots, I think!
Where did you go to source your boudoir outfits? I had my own - we were going to use some from the selection but ran out of time.
How did you feel when you saw your photographs? I'm not used to makeup so I was surprised how different my face looked!
What advice would you have for other women interested in their own boudoir session? Give it a go!
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty and confidence as a result of the session? That I can have the confidence to do things like this!
How did you like working with Kerry Sleeman, her team and other Collaboratives before and on the day of your photo shoot? Kerry was great. Chatty, helped to relax me, good directions, and happy to laugh
Would you do it again and if so would you have changed anything? Yes I would, and I would practice practice practice smiling on cue!
